For the first time in the show’s 30-year history, the Sensors Expo & Conference will rotate to the Long Beach (Calif.) Convention Center from its traditional Midwest home in Rosemont, Ill.
The show, owned by Questex and on tap June 9-11, is going to the West Coast to so “attendees can have easy access to Silicon Valley and the cutting-edge markets of Aerospace & Defense, Medical, Entertainment, and more,” according to show management.
The three-day event – “Sensing Technologies Driving Tomorrow’s Solutions” – serves the fast-growing sensors market that is predicted to grow to $15 billion by next year.
The growth in the sensors market is being driven by the convergence of MEMS, Wireless, Wearables and the Internet of Things.
According to show management, 96 percent of attendees come to the show to purchase new technologies that address current projects.
“We have exhibited at the Sensors Expo since 2012, and are impressed with both the quantity and quality of the leads we receive on the showfloor,” said Nicole Haslip, communications manager, Saft America.
She added, “As we continue to pursue new business in the wireless sensor network industry, we consider the Sensors Expo to be a critical resource for both industry knowledge and potential new customers for our advanced technology batteries.”
The more than 65 dedicated education sessions will cover technology areas including: Energy Harvesting for Wireless Sensor Networks, Internet of Things, MEMS, Novel Approaches to Measurement & Detection, Optical Sensing & Detection, Sensor Fusion, Sensors at Work, Smart Cities, Wireless, and Wearables.
In 2014, Sensors welcomed more than 5,000 attendees during the course of three days, representing 45 states and 40-plus countries.
More than 200 companies are scheduled to exhibit at the 2015 event including PCB Piezotronics, Texas Instruments and Analog Devices, to name a few.
